KwaMashu, KZN – A white Chevrolet Utility bakkie that was hijacked in Trenance Park, KwaZulu-Natal, has been successfully recovered in KwaMashu after swift action by tracking authorities.

Hijacking Incident: What Happened?

The hijacking took place on a link road between Old and New Phase in Trenance Park. At approximately 16:27, five suspects traveling in a blue Hyundai i10 reportedly forced the driver out of the vehicle before fleeing towards Inanda, KZN.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received an urgent call for assistance and immediately dispatched officers to locate the stolen vehicle. Fortunately, the vehicle was fitted with a tracking system, which allowed authorities to recover it swiftly.

How the Vehicle Was Recovered

The stolen bakkie was fitted with a Tracker SA device, which was activated shortly after the hijacking. The Tracker SA Operations Team successfully located the vehicle, abandoned in KwaMashu, just a short while later.
